Athletics

starting in 3rd grade

All athletics groups are based on student interest and grades on a semester-to-semester basis.

Director of Athletics: Josh Nimmer

At Trinity, we believe athletics are an important extension of the classroom. Beginning in 3rd grade, students have the opportunity to grow in teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship through our basketball program.

  • Grades 3–4 participate in a Learning League hosted at Living Word Lutheran High School during the winter season. This fun and foundational league focuses on skill-building, game basics, and teamwork in a low-pressure, Christ-centered environment.

  • Grades 5–6 and 7–8 compete as official Trinity teams. Players represent our school in area tournaments and conference games, where they grow in both athletic ability and leadership.

Whether it’s your child’s first time on the court or they’re ready for competitive play, Trinity’s basketball program supports them every step of the way—on and off the court.

Volleyball is more than just a sport at Trinity—it’s a powerful opportunity for students in grades 5–8 to grow in perseverance, discipline, and unity.

Our athletes learn more than serving and spiking—they learn to work as one body, encourage each other, and compete with integrity. With coaching that focuses on skill development and Christlike leadership, players represent Trinity in league games and tournaments throughout the fall season.

Whether it’s their first time on the court or they’re ready to lead the team, Trinity volleyball helps students grow as athletes and disciples.

Trinity’s cheer program brings high energy, strong values, and unstoppable school spirit to the sidelines and beyond!

  • Grades 5–8 are invited to join our Cheer Team, where students build skills in choreography, leadership, and confidence while leading cheers at games and pep events. Our cheerleaders are more than performers—they’re encouragers, role models, and joy-bringers on campus.

  • In January, we host our exciting Cheer Camp for Kindergarten through 4th grade students! Campers learn basic motions, chants, and a performance routine in a fun, supportive, and faith-filled environment. They even get to perform at a real game—just like the big kids!

Whether cheering from the sidelines or center court, our students learn to shine for Jesus with joy, teamwork, and spirit.

At Trinity, we believe every student can go the distance—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our running programs encourage students to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and keep their eyes on the ultimate goal: honoring Christ in all they do.

  • Cross Country is offered each fall to students in grades 4–8. Runners train outdoors, develop endurance, and compete in meets against area schools. Whether racing through trails or cheering from the sidelines, students grow in determination, discipline, and Christian character.

  • Track & Field takes place each spring for students in grades 5–8, offering a variety of events including sprints, distance races, long jump, and relays. It’s a fantastic way for students to discover their strengths, set personal goals, and experience the thrill of team-based competition.

Every race, every relay, every finish line is an opportunity to grow—in faith, in strength, and in confidence.

Clubs & Activities

5th-8th grade

The student council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principals. They often also help raise funds for schoolwide activities, including social events, community projects, helping people in need and school reform.

Student Council positions are elected by their peers and are open to all 5th-8th grade students.

Students in 5th – 8th grade who meet and maintain certain academic requirements are invited to join the Lutheran Junior Honor Association. Students serve God and others by encouraging the academic and spiritual development of the Trinity student body.

Chapel & Assemblies

Every Wednesday, the entire school gathers for worship at 8:00 am.  Students sit with their “Chapel family”, a smaller unit made up of 15 -18 Trinity staff and students in all grades. The older students are eager to mentor the younger students and lead by example in a worship setting. Chapel families also engage in various service opportunities throughout the school year. Chapel services include singing hymns and songs, a message, offering and prayer.

Bookending our week on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons are energetic, joy-filled, school assemblies. Our assemblies include devotions, recitation on our identity in Christ, singing, games, and student-led recognition of achievement. Want to see our culture in action? Come to an assembly!

Wrap Around Care

We partner with parents by providing after-school activities for our students, so that they can pick up their child(ren) at a time that works with their schedules.  Our caregivers are dedicated to making sure that children have fun and that our care is not a duplicate of their school day.  Children are given help with homework and there are ample opportunities for creative, recreational and restful activities.  Daily group devotion and snack time begin each after-school session, followed by exciting indoor and outdoor activities.

Director of Childcare: Melinda Neuenfeldt

Trinity’s Wrap Around Care (WAC) program provides Trinity parents with the flexibility to use care services before the school day begins and after the school day ends.
