A CHILD IS BORN!

Reflections on the names of Jesus

“For unto us a child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

This year, we welcome as our evening’s speaker, Laura Sandretti. Laura is a speaker and author from Sussex, WI. She has a master’s degree in Theological Studies and is a former high school teacher and women’s ministry director. Laura has been married to Chris for 33 years. They have six adult children (three biological, two by marriage and one informally adopted :)). Her favorite child is her perfect two year-old dog, Dexter.

LAURA’S MINISTRY VISION & PURPOSE

It took me many years to realize that knowing about God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible are not the same as knowing God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible. Once I began to see that disconnect, however, I was not sure how to fix it, or the mother, wife, and human I wished I could become. It is my prayer that I can provide encouragement and practical tips to help others bridge that divide. It is my hope that my writing and speaking will broaden your understanding of what you think about yourself and what you deeply believe about God, because those two things determine how we think, talk, and treat others. Jesus’ finished work on the cross is not abstract hope for “good Christians.” It is felt peace and freedom that is meant to be realized in every Christ-followers’ actual life.
