Studying the Word Together
Ecclesiastes
Pastor Carl & Pastor Daniel
Sunday 9:15 am – 9:45 am
Gathering Room
What is it all there for? What are we here for? What is life’s meaning and purpose? What really matters? Prepare for questions such as these and maybe for a few surprises as we dive into this book.
Cross Explorations is a Bible study that challenges children and adults to dig deep into the stories of the Bible. Each week, the pastors teach a Cross Explorations Bible study for adults that mirrors the same lesson the kids will experience in Sunday School.
The children’s materials provide discussion points so parents can keep the conversation going around the dinner table and throughout the week. This year’s focus will be on stories from the New Testament.

Amos
Brian & Joanie Forke
Sunday 9:30am
Art/Science Room (Elevator to the basement, on your left)
From the high pastures he lifts his eyes to see across the Salt Sea and the Jordan, where the shadows stalk and devour Edom, Moab, and Ammon. Turning toward the sunset, he sees the distant peak of Mount Carmel, the coasts of Philistia, and the way to Egypt engulfed with reddish light. He calls together the sheep and leads them to safety before the day turns to darkness, when predators roam.
The Lord called the shepherd Amos to deliver a surprising and ominous message for Judah and Israel. In his prophecies, Amos pictured the Lord angry, crouching, and focused like a lion stalking the sinful, carefree nations. The kingdoms were prosperous when Amos preached, but his prophecies of destruction were rapidly fulfilled by the invading Assyrians, who besieged Samaria within a few decades. Bible Lunchbreak
Pastors
Wednesdays at noon
Online via Zoom
Our Wednesday Bible study with the pastors will be taking a break during Advent and returning in January. Make plans to join us (online) in the new year at noon on Wednesdays
This NEW study led by the pastors will multiply the impact of the Sunday morning service. Ready yourself for Sunday worship by deepening your understanding of the coming sermon text.
Each Wednesday will offer a brief review of the previous week’s sermon focus, and then the pastors will take a close look at the following weekend’s sermon text, providing context and a more detailed examination of the scriptures than is possible during a sermon. Participants are welcome to log on just to listen or can ask questions and join the discussion.
Jump on via Zoom from home or take advantage of your lunchbreak to listen from work, and let the word of Christ dwell in you richly all week long.
Join via Zoom at zoom.carlehenbauer.com (passcode: lunch) or email Pastor Carl to receive a direct link: clehenbauer@trinityfreistadt.com.

Stuff They Didn’t Teach Me in Sunday School
Fred Mollwitz
Tuesday 7:30 am – Already in progress – Join anytime!
School Library (church basement)
Ready to get behind the scenes on those great stories you heard as a kid but wondered about as an adult? Well, wonder no longer. Fred has been leading this video-based study called “Stuff They Didn’t Teach Me in Sunday School” for several years now, and the episodes just keep coming! Watch and listen as Bruce Wurdeman drives his way through Scripture and comes up with stuff even a Hebrew scholar would enjoy.
Each week features a separate Bible story, so even if you miss a week here and there, you can jump in and out without feeling like you’re behind. Fred’s study is for both men and women and for all ages.
This podcast is an “across-the-table conversation” around God’s Word – currently progressing through the book of Acts. Our goal is to help make each household a place of spiritual vibrancy, with special encouragement for those who are the spiritual leaders within each household, but the Biblical conversation is helpful to all, no matter the age and stage of life.
We release one episode a week. Each podcast lasts 25-30 minutes.
