Studying the Word Together

Cross Explorations

Sundays | 9:30 – 10:30 am
  • Children’s Cross Explorations and Adult Bible Studies will begin that morning at 9:30 a.m.
  • Children in 3K-5K will be in Room 511 (the 3K/4K classroom)
  • Children in Grades 1-3 will be in Room 601 (a 2nd Grade Classroom)
  • Children in Grades 4-6 will be in Room 403 (a 4th Grade Classroom)

Our emphasis for this year will be a journey through the Old Testament following the Children of Israel as they enter the Promised Land of Canaan.   We will follow them as they conquer the nations before them, then live under a series of judges and kings in a continuing cycle of obedience and disobedience.  Through it all we will see how a faithful God redeems a faithless people—with lots of lessons for us today!

PARENTS—drop your children off at their rooms, then choose one of our two adult  Sunday morning Bible studies.

  • One study led by Pastor Chris Conkling and Pastor Daniel Reh follows the exact same Bible text that the children are experiencing in Cross Explorations each week.  This study is perfect for any adult, especially parents.
  • The other Sunday morning study is led by Brian and Joanie Forke. Their topic this year is Christians in a Woke World: A Call to Courage, Confession and Love, based on a book of the same title.  Copies of the book are available at the Schedler Gift Center for $14.00.

Understanding the Times (and Knowing What to Do!)

A Five-Week Presentation by Dr. Brad Alles, Associate Professor of Education, Concordia University Wisconsin

Sundays in Lent (February 18, 25, March 3, 10, and 17)

From the Old Testament book of 1 Chronicles in chapter 12, verse 32, we get this little phrase describing the tribe of Issachar: men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.  We know we’re living in times of unprecedented change in our culture.  We’re often left worried, confused, and wondering what tomorrow will bring. We could use some men from Issachar today, couldn’t we?  People who able to survey the landscape, assess, diagnose, and inspire others to not only survive in this world…but thrive.

During his five-Sunday visit with us, Brad’s presentations will include:

  • Sunday, February 18th: Truth, Identity and Purpose in Post-Christian America (A contrast of a biblical worldview versus Cultural Marxism regarding truth, identity, and purpose.)
  • Sunday, February 25th:. Countercultural Sex (A contrast of a biblical worldview versus Canaan, Roman, and Cultural Marxism regarding marriage and sexuality. Warning: Content is for mature audiences.)
  • Sunday, March 3rd: Climate Change (A biblical worldview on climate and scientific findings that reveal global warming is not an emergency.)
  • Sunday, March 10th: Revelation for the Revolution Part 1: The Great Reset  (A study of Daniel 7, Revelation 17 and the World Economic Forum’s plan for transforming Western civilization based on saving the planet and redistributing wealth.)
  • Sunday, March 17th: Revelation for the Revolution Part 2: ESG Scores (A study of Revelation 18, selected verses on money, and the environmental, social, and governance standards used as social credit scoring.)

Dr. Brad Alles is no stranger to Trinity, having led several lecture series over the years.  We are privileged to have him back again during the Sundays in Lent to lead us in this five-week study. It’s always about living as Christ’s disciples, bringing light into a world that is darkened by sin.

Join us!  And invite others to join you.

Trinity’s Lord’s Supper workshop is offered for children in grades 5-8 who are preparing for confirmation, and is also available as a review for all members of the congregation. Instruction will take place during the Bible Study hour each Sunday from February 18 through March 17. Those who complete this instruction as part of their confirmation process will receive their first communion during Maundy Thursday services on March 28. Please sign up here if you and your child(ren) plan to attend.
