Adult Confirmation Instruction
Adult instruction is conducted in a one-on-one or small group study, depending on the numbers. Sessions typically complete two chapters at a time and are scheduled according to the schedule of the participants. There are a total of 12 chapters of study, so this instruction is usually completed in 6 sessions.
For those participants seeking to be confirmed, upon a satisfactory completion of this instruction, a sit down is scheduled with Pastor Carl, and a date will be scheduled to receive the adult confirmand into communicant membership of Trinity.
God, are you there?
Everyone, at some point, asks this question. It can come at moments of sterile reflection or in times of deep despair. “God, if You are there, why don’t You show Yourself to me?” In this confusing world where authenticity is so elusive, it seems like we cannot connect to God.
We could not connect to God, but the good news is that God connects with us. He has been doing this from the beginning in amazing ways. The most direct way God connected to us is when He became one of us in Jesus Christ. When Jesus was on this earth, He was the very revelation of God as He taught and healed and loved.
Then to restore our connection to God which had been shattered because of sin, on the cross, Jesus willingly paid the penalty for our sins—in His own death! This is the most authentic, startling and determined love the world could have ever imagined.
Now God connects to us by revealing Himself in the Bible. This God-given book has an amazing story. It tells of God’s constant and compassionate work to restore our relationship with Him.
Trinity uses a curriculum called GodConnects to share that story with you. GodConnects is a course that tells this unique, unequaled story. Whether you are a new believer in Jesus Christ as your Savior or you’ve been a Christian for a long time and want to deepen your faith in Him, this GodConnectscourse you will help you explore what the Bible says about this remarkably loving God, and how this love gives direction and meaning to your life today and forever.

Christians in A Woke World
Led by Brian and Joanie Forke
Sunday Mornings, 9:15 – 10:30
In the Science Room
Society has changed. Being a victim seems to now be in vogue. People with opposing points of view are no longer debated, they’re “cancelled.” Words like woke, social justice, systemic racism, privilege, and critical race theory have become a part of mainstream society. While many pundits and politicians have now begun to voice their concerns about this new ideology of “wokeness” and its impact on society, and what impact this ideology has on a person’s relationship with Christ.
This study, authored by an LCMS pastor reveals God’s answer to the challenge of “wokeness.” He calls His people to demonstrate courage in the face of challenges, confess the faith and above all, share the love of His Son, Jesus, with all people.
Grab your coffee and donut and head down to the Science Room (lower level just off the elevator) to join Brian and Joan as they lead this study each Sunday morning.
Copies of the Bible Study Guide can be purchased in the Schedler Resource Center for $15 each.

A Small Group led by Brian & Angela Axtman
Hosted by Dan & Ginny Jagla
Starts Friday, September 15th at 6:30
Each of us must daily choose between giving in to the world’s pressure to trust in ourselves or yielding control of our lives to God. While following God’s directions when we don’t see immediate results can be difficult, the payoff will always be tremendous.
In this video-based small group, Dr. Tony Evans looks at the people in the Bible’s Hall of Faith: Old Testament heroes, such as Abraham, Noah, and Moses, who let God lead their lives. Learn how their journeys can help you understand what it means to walk in faith.
To prepare for this first meeting at the Jagla’s, log on to RightNow Media and search for Kingdom Heroes. Watch the trailer and first episode, then read Hebrews 11.
For more details and directions to the Jagla’s, email Angela at angela.axtman@gmail.com or call her at 262-391-5506.

Nehemiah centers on the Lord’s providential protection of His people and the expected response of obedience and faithfulness in prayer and praise. This series explores the importance of God’s Word, the reality of opposition, God’s power to restore broken lives and the need for prayer.
From 5:30-6:00 is a time for desserts and fellowship. The study begins at 6:00 and goes until 7:00. This small group is not so small! As a result, space is limited. Please contact Kristi at kristi.weber1982@gmail.com to get an update on whether they can take any new participants.

The Chosen is a ground-breaking series about the life of Jesus that presents events from the Gospels in a creative and thought-provoking way. Much of the Chosen is straight out of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This series also provides interesting (mostly plausible) plot lines that broaden your understanding of what life must have been like for people living in first-century Galilee.
In this third season, Jesus and the apostles feel the stress of their growing ministry, face greater resistance from Jewish and Roman authorities and deal with greater conflict between themselves.
Watch for more information regarding this group. The Chosen is most easily accessed through the free Angel Studios app, allowing you to watch on all your devices.
Dr. Brad Alles
Sundays in Lent (February 18 – March 17)
9:15 – 10:30 in the Gymnasium
From the Old Testament book of 1 Chronicles in chapter 12, verse 32, we get this little phrase describing the tribe of Issachar: men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do. We know we’re living in times of unprecedented change in our culture. We’re often left worried, confused, and wondering what tomorrow will bring. We could use some men from Issachar today, couldn’t we? People who able to survey the landscape, assess, diagnose, and inspire others to not only survive in this world…but thrive.
Dr. Brad Alles is no stranger to Trinity, having led several lecture series over the years. We are privileged to have him back again during the Sundays in Lent to lead us in this five-week study. It’s always about living as Christ’s disciples, bringing light into a world that that is darkened by sin.
Join us! And invite others to join you.
